Florida Championship Wrestling debuts new arena, Web site & TV studio
"Get ready! We're about to explode down here in the state of Florida," said Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) president Steve Keirn, regarding the new FCW training facility, public arena, Web site and TV studio.
Before Superstars like Andre the Giant, Ric Flair, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper competed in WWE, they were part of FCW, which is now WWE's official developmental training facility located in Tampa, Fla.
"It really turned out beautifully. I'm really excited about it. I can't wait for everyone to see it and put it to full use," said Keirn regarding the newly constructed FCW training facility and arena which holds live events for the public.
Showcasing all of the new changes within FCW is a revamped FCWWrestling.com. "I'm excited WWE is helping us with the new Web site. I know it will be done professionally, and first-class. That is the way we want to represent FCW as the developmental system - first-class from Web site to training facility to talent," said Keirn, a former professional wrestler and producer for WWE.
The new FCWWrestling.com will include up-to-date photos and information on FCW, its events and of course, the WWE Superstars of tomorrow.
"WWE fans ought to be excited about the future. The FCW talent is very competitive now. They see people getting injured and retiring. We have 60 talent from around the world, representing 14 different countries. For the fans, it's exciting to know that there's going to be up-and-coming stars that they can see here in Florida. Or, they might see them showcased in WWE," said Keirn.
On Thursday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m. ET, history will be made at the new FCW Arena when FCW tapes its debut television show for future broadcast.
"John Cena and quite a few celebrities will be here, including some Tampa Bay Buccaneers players. Anybody important in the city of Tampa will be here," said Keirn.
